The Program

The graduate program in cellular and structural biology seeks to train students to carry out activities associated with research and teaching in the program’s three major areas: cellular biology, tissue biology and anatomy.
These three areas are integrated, and the Topics of Research extend beyond strict classifications to share the interpretation of biological phenomena using Cellular and Structural Biology. This is only made possible by the advances in, for example, Molecular Biology, Immunohistochemistry, Optical Microscopy and Electron Microscopy Techniques, which enable a better understanding of cell, organ and tissue functions. We seek to ensure that our master and doctorate students acquire the skills and experience required of lecturers in cellular biology, tissue biology and/or anatomy. We are concerned to offer them a comprehensive and novel view of biological phenomena at the substructural and molecular levels as well as the morphogical and functional aspects of cells, organs and systems.

The minimum and maximum time limits for completing the Master Degree program are 12 and 36 months, respectively.
To obtain a Master Degree in Cellular and Structural Biology, students must earn 18 credits in courses and receive a passing grade in the defense of their dissertation.
